Johnson Matthey's Noble Metals business encompasses a broad range of platinum group metal fabrications. These include gauze for the production of nitric acid for fertilizers, thermocouples for measuring temperature, fabricated components for glass manufacturers and the laboratory, medical parts for implants, and precious metal wires for a wide range of applications. In addition, Johnson Matthey have pioneered the use of coating technologies to allow the deposition of a thin layer of platinum or platinum alloy onto a wide range of ceramic substrates.

In order to maintain our leading position as a full service provider, we have entered into arrangement with other suppliers of products within the Noble Metals environment. The following are two examples of such arrangements. We are the exclusive agent in China for bushings manufactured by Tanaka Kikinzoku KK in Japan, and we are the exclusive agent in Asia for COIM spa in Italy for their world leading range of sizing and binder products.
